This is one of the Kenya itineraries we've planned for a couple before , five nights, six days across the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli and Nairobi, built for two adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a shorter couples' safari through Kenya could look like. A version built around your own dates and pace would look a little different , and that's the point.

The Mara opens the trip with a Masai village visit on the very first afternoon , a cultural stop most longer itineraries push to a later day, if they include it at all , followed by a full day of game drives across the reserve's plains.

Lake Naivasha and a Crescent Island walking safari change the pace mid-trip, putting a couple on foot among giraffe and zebra rather than behind a vehicle window, before Amboseli's elephant herds and Kilimanjaro views close the safari on the way back to Nairobi.

    Masai Mara National Reserve

    A full day of game drives, or morning and afternoon drives, across the Mara's grasslands, in search of the Big Five.

  3. Day 3

    Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

    A drive to Lake Naivasha, followed by a boat ride on the lake and a guided walk among free-roaming wildlife on Crescent Island.

    Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park

    A drive to Amboseli, with an evening game drive against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

    Amboseli to Nairobi

    A drive back to Nairobi, with the rest of the day free to relax or explore the city independently.

    A transfer to the airport for the flight home.
