USA Travel Guide

Iconic skylines, epic road trips and national parks beyond compare.

The Statue of Liberty still gets a reaction from the ferry, even from guests who've seen it in a hundred films first. The Grand Canyon is wider and deeper than any photograph prepares you for, cut by a river that's been at it for six million years. Las Vegas runs all night by design, and the lights are visible from the plane long before landing.

The United States is a continent's worth of country, not a place you circle in one trip. New York and Los Angeles sit five hours apart by air. Most itineraries pick two or three states properly rather than trying to cover the coasts and everything between them in a single visit.

Why the USA, and Why With Us

Why the USA, and Why with us

America runs on scale and confidence in equal measure , a New York deli that's been making the same sandwich the same way for eighty years, a Grand Canyon guide who still sounds struck by the view after a thousand tours. That range, city to wilderness, is most of the appeal.

The USA's distances are real, and a rushed coast-to-coast itinerary usually means more time in airports than at the places worth the flight. We build every USA trip around two or three states done properly, sequenced by real flight times, not a five-city loop that spends half the trip in transit.

We've been building itineraries since 2013. Not templates, routes built around how you like to travel. We pick the region before the itinerary, and we'll tell you when trying to cover too much isn't worth the transit time. If we wouldn't book it for our own family, we won't book it for you. This is our USA Travel Guide. You can find our opinions on what places to include, what time to visit, how long your visit should be and more.

Suggested Trip Duration

7–8 days One state like New York or California captures the essential highlights for a first trip through the USA.
9–11 days (our most common recommendation) Add a second state like New York and Washington D.C., or California and Nevada without rushing between destinations.
12–14 days Room for a third region like the Grand Canyon or Florida allowing time for diverse experiences across regions.
15+ days For repeat visitors exploring the USA's states and regions more deeply, or combining the USA with Canada for a broader North American experience.
A Culinary Journey Through the USA

A Culinary Journey Through the USA

American food varies enormously by region, more than its global fast-food reputation suggests. New York does bagels, pizza by the slice and a properly serious fine-dining scene within blocks of each other. Chicago's deep-dish pizza and Italian beef sandwiches are worth the specific detour. Miami's Cuban food, particularly in Little Havana, reflects real immigrant history rather than a themed restaurant concept.

Quick tip: Order a New York bagel with lox from a proper Jewish deli, not a chain , the difference in quality is considerable.

Culture & Traditions

Culture & Traditions

America's regional identities run deeper than a single national culture; a New Yorker, a Texan and a Californian would each describe the country differently, and that variation is part of what makes travelling here interesting. Native American history and culture, particularly across the Southwest, deserves more attention than a quick photo stop at a scenic viewpoint usually gives it.

Travenza tip: If visiting the Grand Canyon or the wider Southwest, ask about a guide with Native American heritage , the context changes the visit considerably.

Shopping in the USA: From Fifth Avenue to Outlet Malls

Shopping in the USA: From Fifth Avenue to Outlet Malls

New York's Fifth Avenue holds flagship stores from nearly every major brand worldwide. Outlet malls, particularly near Orlando and Las Vegas, offer real savings on both American and international brands. Duty-free shopping at major international airports is worth checking before departure.

Travenza tip: Budget extra luggage allowance if outlet shopping is part of your plan , it's a real draw for many visitors and adds up fast.

Getting Around the USA

Domestic flights are how most USA itineraries move between states , New York to Los Angeles is a five-to-six hour flight, and the drive isn't a realistic alternative on a standard trip. Within cities, New York and Chicago are both easily walkable with strong public transport; Los Angeles and most of Florida need a rental car or private driver.

Travenza tip: Book domestic flights well ahead during US holiday periods, particularly Thanksgiving and the December holidays, when fares and availability both tighten.

Visa Guide

Most Indian travellers need a US visa, arranged well in advance through an in-person interview at a US consulate. We confirm the latest requirements and handle documentation, and would strongly recommend starting the process as early as possible, since interview wait times can run several months depending on the consulate.

Why the USA Stays With You

America is remembered for its range , a Broadway show one night, a canyon that swallows the whole horizon a few days later, a beach in Hawaii that feels like a different country entirely. Most first trips cover one coast properly; return visits add the other coast, the national parks, or a wider route through the middle of the country.
