Culture
The Lanyang Museum's architecture and the street art of the Rainbow Village.
Five nights built around pandas, a bubble tea museum and a theme park with one of the world's best-known roller coasters.
Taiwan works well for a family because almost everything is easy. Transport is simple, food is safe and varied, and the attractions that children enjoy are close enough to Taipei that no day involves a long drive.
This is one of the Taiwan itineraries we've planned for a family before, five nights, six days across Taipei and Taichung, built for two adults and two children (6 and 9 years) travelling together. It's shared here to show what a family trip through Taiwan could look like. A version built around your own family's size, pace and dates would look a little different, and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Taipei Zoo opens the trip on a gentle note, with the giant pandas, the Formosan Black Bear and a few endemic species that most children have not seen before. Taipei 101's fast lift is the part a six-year-old will talk about.
The Yilan day trip is the middle of the holiday. An animal farm where children can feed the animals, the Bubble Tea Museum and an evening at the Luodong Night Market make a day that suits both a six-year-old and a nine-year-old, and the last stretch in Taichung is the theme park.
If you asked us: keep the Lihpao Land day for the end and book the instant-entry tickets. A family arriving at a theme park with children who have already travelled for five days does better without a queue.
per adult and ₹98,450 per child, based on 2 adults and 2 children (6 and 9 years) travelling together, including international airfare and high-speed rail
