Culture
Puerto Williams, Chile, and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, with visa included.
Fifteen nights from Puerto Williams to South Georgia, Elephant Island and the Antarctic Peninsula, with six days at sea along the way.
The voyage opens with three relaxed days at sea before South Georgia comes into view. There, guests can paddle kayaks through ice-filled channels, cruise along coastlines rich in wildlife and walk the pebbly beaches, then the ship heads south to the Antarctic Peninsula, where penguin colonies, whales and icebergs fill the days.
This is one of the Antarctica expedition voyages Silversea has scheduled aboard Silver Cloud, fifteen nights, sixteen days from Puerto Williams and back, departing February 12, 2027 (Silversea voyage E4270212015).
It's shared here to show what a longer Antarctica route through South Georgia could look like. A version built around your own dates and pace would look a little different, and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Three countries and territories in one voyage is the draw. Chile at the start and end, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands in the middle, and Antarctica itself, with 20 shore excursions on offer across the route. The South Georgia visa is included.
The mid-February sailing reaches Antarctica in the second half of the voyage, after three days in South Georgia, which gives the trip two distinct halves. South Georgia is for wildlife and scenery, and the Peninsula is for glaciers, mountains and the whales and penguins of the Antarctic coast. If you asked us: do not shorten the sea days in your head.
Six of the sixteen days are at sea, and they are part of what makes this route the full expedition rather than the fastest one. Silver Cloud's suites, 80 percent of them with a veranda, make them easy to enjoy.

Itinerary planning, voyage reservation, the optional flight package with airport transfers, pre and post voyage stays, visa and travel documentation assistance, and travel support throughout the trip. Customised by travel dates, suite category and pace. The shore excursions shown are examples and can change. Weather in the far south is hard to predict, so the captain and expedition team may adjust the route, the timing and the flights.
