Nature
The Lauterbrunnen valley, the First Cliff Walk, and Rhine Falls' full force from the water.
Grindelwald's cliffs, Zermatt's car-free streets, and a glacier train stitching it all together.
A Switzerland trip built around trains and mountains rather than a checklist of cities suits couples especially well , long train rides with nowhere to be, alpine villages small enough that getting lost isn't really possible, and evenings with nothing on the agenda beyond dinner.
This is one of the Switzerland itineraries we've planned for a couple before , 10 nights, 11 days across Zurich, Grindelwald, Zermatt, Andermatt and Lucerne, built for 2 adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a couple's trip through Switzerland could look like. A version built around your own pace and dates would look a little different , and that's the point.
Why This Trip
This route trades ground covered for time spent , two or three nights in Grindelwald and Zermatt each, rather than a single overnight stop, which is what most first-timer Switzerland trips end up doing under time pressure.
June sits right at the start of the summer hiking season, before the peak July-August crowds, with the Lauterbrunnen valley and First Cliff Walk both fully open.
Travenza Holidays tip: don't skip the Andermatt night. It's the quietest stop on the route and the natural midpoint between the Glacier Express legs , most itineraries push straight through it, which is a missed evening.
per adult, based on 2 adults travelling together, excluding international airfare
