Nature
Chamonix and Mont Blanc, Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Glacier 3000, and Jungfraujoch's Aletsch Glacier views.
Fourteen nights, seven towns, and a day trip into France thrown in along the way.
Most Switzerland trips pick three or four towns and move fast between them. This one takes the opposite approach , fourteen nights, seven Swiss bases, and enough time in each to add detours most itineraries can't fit, including a day trip across the border to Chamonix and Mont Blanc in France, and Gstaad, a town most first-time visitors skip entirely.
This is one of the Switzerland itineraries we've planned for a couple before , 14 nights, 15 days across Geneva, Zermatt, Montreux, Gstaad, Interlaken, Bern, Lucerne and Zurich, built for 2 adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a longer, deeper route through Switzerland could look like. A version built around your own pace and dates would look a little different , and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Fourteen nights is close to double the length of a typical first Switzerland trip, and it shows in the itinerary , Gstaad's upscale alpine village, Glacier 3000's Peak Walk, and a full day across the border in Chamonix all make the cut, alongside the expected Jungfraujoch and Titlis excursions.
The GoldenPass Express from Montreux to Interlaken is one of the more scenic legs in the country and rarely gets more than a mention on shorter itineraries , here it's a full travel day, not a rushed connection.
If you asked us: this is the itinerary to build if you've already done Switzerland once and want to go back properly, rather than the one for a first trip.
per person, based on 2 adults travelling together, excluding international airfare
