Puerto Vallarta's colonial architecture and plazas, and the story of Mexican chocolate.
A 6-night friends trip to Mexico's Pacific coast across Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, with an ATV adventure…
Six nights on the Pacific coast, with a desert ATV ride, a dinner cruise past the Arch and a chocolate tour in Puerto Vallarta. The Pacific side of Mexico is built for a group of friends. Los Cabos has the desert, the dunes and the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta has a colourful old town, a long beachfront and a more relaxed pace for the second half.
This is one of the Mexico itineraries we've planned for a group of friends before, six nights, seven days across Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, built for four adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a friends' trip through Mexico could look like. A version built around your own group's size, pace and dates would look a little different, and that's the point.
Why This Trip
March is warm, dry and just inside the whale season, which runs from December to April. The ATV day at Margaritas Beach is the high-energy part of the trip, and the Fiesta Dinner Cruise that follows is the party, with an open bar, music and a Mexican dinner past the Arch, Lover's Beach and the sea lion Colony. Puerto Vallarta is the slower half.
A half-day small-group tour through the old town with a chocolate-making stop is easy to do after a few days of action, and the rest of the time is for the beach and the group's own plans.
If you asked us: if your dates fall between December and April, swap the free morning in Los Cabos for the Arch and whale-watching cruise. It is a morning well spent, and the group will see the Arch twice from two different angles.
