Japan Couples Trip

Nine nights of tea ceremonies, quiet lanes, and a bullet train timed for two.

9 Nights / 10 DaysDuration
3Cities

Japan for two moves at whatever pace a couple sets. A tea ceremony in Gion in the afternoon. A bullet train timed to the minute. An evening left open, deliberately, for nowhere in particular.

This is one of the Japan itineraries we've planned for a couple before ; nine nights, ten days across Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo, built for two adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a couples' trip through Japan could look like. A version built around your own dates and pace would look a little different ; and that's the point.

Why Travel to Japan as a Couple

Why Travel to Japan as a Couple

Late May into June sits just past the cherry blossom rush and just before Japan's humid summer, which means shorter queues at the places most couples want to linger ; Gion's lantern-lit lanes, Fushimi Inari's quieter upper gates, Arashiyama before the day-trippers arrive.

A tea ceremony and a visit to Kyoto's Samurai Ninja Museum sit back to back on the same evening, and a full day at Tokyo DisneySea closes out the trip on something lighter than temples.

This is one of the itineraries we've built for a couple travelling together before, shared here to show what the trip could look like. A version built for your own dates and pace would look a little different.
