This is one of the Greece itineraries we've planned for a group before - seven nights, eight days across Athens, Santorini and Mykonos, built for four adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a friends' trip through Greece could look like. A version built around your own group's size, pace, and dates would look a little different and that's the point.

May keeps Greece warm without peak-summer heat, good conditions for a day on the water around Santorini's volcanic islands and a drive around Mykonos' beaches. Two ferries move between islands, and every transfer along the way is private, so the group is never waiting on strangers. Athens bookends the trip, with one night on arrival and two at the end for a private night tour and a private Delphi day. If you asked us: keep the Delphi day even if the group is tempted by a beach day. After a week of ferries and sea views, it's the one stop nothing else on the route replaces.

Athens Day 1, Day 6–8

A private night tour past the Acropolis, Mt. Lycabettus, Syntagma Square, Monastiraki and Plaka, and a private Delphi day trip.

Santorini Day 2–3

A shared caïque cruise to Nea Kameni, the hot springs off Palea Kameni and Thirasia, then the sunset from Oia.

Mykonos Day 4–5

A four-hour private island tour of hidden beaches, famous attractions and local places, including Ano Mera village.

Greece Trip Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Athens Arrival

    Pick-up from Athens airport and a private transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure in Athens.

  2. Day 2

    Ferry to Santorini

    A private transfer to the port and the morning ferry from Athens to Santorini, leaving in the morning. A private transfer to the hotel, with the evening at leisure.

  3. Day 3

    Santorini Volcanic Cruise & Oia Sunset

    A shared cruise on a traditional Greek caïque. The group explores the volcano at Nea Kameni (entrance at own expense), soaks in the sulphur hot springs off Palea Kameni and has free time on Thirasia, before a transfer to Oia for the sunset.

  4. Day 4

    Ferry to Mykonos

    A private transfer to the port and the morning ferry from Santorini to Mykonos. The group is picked up at the port and taken to the hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure.

  5. Day 5

    Mykonos Private Island Tour

    A four-hour private tour with a driver who doubles as the guide, taking in hidden beaches, famous attractions and local places, with stops for photos. The tour includes Ano Mera village for shopping and relaxing. Entry fees are payable directly.

  6. Day 6

    Ferry to Athens, Private Night Tour

    The ferry from Mykonos to Athens, followed by a private transfer to the hotel. In the evening, a four-hour private night tour of Athens: the foot of the Acropolis, views from Mt. Lycabettus, Syntagma Square, and the streets of Monastiraki and Plaka.

  7. Day 7

    Delphi Private Full-Day Tour

    An eight-hour private day trip from Athens in an air-conditioned vehicle. The group visits the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Delphi, home of the 4th-century BC Temple of Apollo, and chooses which parts of the mountainside complex to see.

  8. Day 8

    Athens Departure

    A private transfer from the hotel to Athens airport for the flight home.
