Kyoto's tea ceremony, the Gion district, and temples across Nara and Kyoto.
Fourteen nights, five cities, two Disney parks, and a flight north into Hokkaido's quieter half of Japan.
Japan solves the problem every family holiday runs into eventually ; the day nobody agrees on what to do. Kids get Super Nintendo World, two Disney parks, and a snow-swept zoo in Hokkaido. Parents get bullet trains that run to the minute and a country where getting lost rarely feels risky.
This is one of the Japan itineraries we've planned for a family before ; fourteen nights, fifteen days across Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Sapporo and Tokyo, built for four adults and two children travelling together. It's shared here to show what a family trip through Japan could look like. A version built around your own family's size, pace, and dates would look a little different ; and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Fourteen nights is enough time to slow down. This trip doesn't just tick off Tokyo and Kyoto ; it flies the family north to Hokkaido for zoos, blue ponds and bear ranches most first-timers never see, then closes with two full days at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea.
Universal Studios Japan's Super Nintendo World gets its own full day early in the trip, and a private Hiroshima day trip by bullet train sits in the middle of the Kyoto stay ; Peace Memorial Park in the morning, Miyajima's floating torii gate by afternoon, back in time for dinner.
per adult and ₹59,875 per child (ages 8–9), based on 4 adults and 2 children travelling together, excluding international airfare
