Culture
Phuket's Big Buddha statue and Bangkok's Golden Buddha and Reclining Buddha temples.
Six nights built around a three-year-old's attention span, with an elephant sanctuary standing in for a school trip.
Thailand with a small child works because almost nothing about it fights the pace a three-year-old sets. Warm water, short transfers, and enough animals in one week to fill a year of bedtime stories.
This is one of the Thailand itineraries we've planned for a family before , six nights, seven days across Phuket and Bangkok, built for two adults and one child (3 years) travelling together. It's shared here to show what a family trip through Thailand could look like. A version built around your own family's size, pace, and dates would look a little different , and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Phuket does the heavy lifting in the first half of this trip , an elephant sanctuary where the day's plan is simply feeding and bathing them, a speedboat run out to Phi Phi Island, and an aquarium visit timed for the hottest part of the afternoon, when a small child needs air conditioning more than sightseeing.
Bangkok closes the trip with a different kind of day out. Safari World and Marine Park cover more ground than a city tour would with a toddler in tow, and the Golden Buddha and Reclining Buddha temples get their own morning, before the group settles into departure-day admin.
If you asked us: keep the Phuket half loose. A three-year-old on a nine-hour time difference needs slower mornings more than a packed schedule does.

Day By Day
A private transfer brings the family to the hotel in Phuket. The evening is left free , a good idea after a long flight with a toddler.
A half-day city tour takes in the Big Buddha and Tiger Kingdom, with cheetah tickets included. The evening brings the Phuket Fantasea Show with dinner , big enough on stage to hold a three-year-old's attention for two hours straight.
A speedboat tour out to Phi Phi Island, lunch included, with the national park fee already covered. Turquoise water and limestone cliffs that photograph well and tire out small legs by evening.
A morning at an elephant sanctuary , feeding and bathing them, no riding involved , followed by an afternoon at Aquaria Phuket, air-conditioned and unhurried.
A short flight to Bangkok, then a city tour taking in the Golden Buddha and the Reclining Buddha Temple before checking in for the evening.
A full day at Safari World's open zoo and Marine Park, with a drive-through safari, animal shows, and a lunch buffet along the way.
A private transfer to the airport closes out the trip.

The Fine Print, Handled

Ready When You Are
An elephant sanctuary before breakfast, a speedboat to Phi Phi, a safari drive-through that doesn't need a passport to feel like an adventure , Thailand gives a young family a week that asks very little of a three-year-old's patience.
