Off the Beaten Path in Tanzania

A 15-night off the beaten path safari across eight parks and reserves in Kenya and Tanzania, ending on Zanzibar. Curated by Travenza Holidays.

15 Nights / 16 DaysDuration
8Cities

Most East Africa safaris pick one park in Kenya and one in Tanzania and call it done. This one doesn't stop at two , Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara in Kenya, then an overland crossing into the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire before Zanzibar. Eight stops in sixteen days, most of them skipped entirely by itineraries built around a single flight in and out. Tanzania carries the larger share of it , eight of the fifteen nights.

This is one of the Tanzania itineraries we've planned for a couple before , fifteen nights, sixteen days across eight parks and reserves in Kenya and Tanzania, built for 2 adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a longer, deeper route through Tanzania, and the Kenya legs that lead into it, could look like. A version built around your own pace and dates would look a little different , and that's the point.

Why Go Beyond the Standard Safari Route

Why Go Beyond the Standard Safari Route

Most Tanzania itineraries run 9 to 11 nights and stick to Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar. This one runs fifteen and adds five more stops before it even crosses into Tanzania , Amboseli's elephants against Kilimanjaro's backdrop, the Rift Valley lakes at Naivasha and Nakuru, and a full three days in the Masai Mara.

Tanzania still carries the trip. Eight of the fifteen nights are on Tanzanian ground , Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Zanzibar , with Kenya's parks built in as the longer lead-in most itineraries don't have room for.

If you asked us: Lake Nakuru is the stop most people would cut first if pressed for time, and it's also the one we'd fight hardest to keep in , the flamingo-lined shoreline and the rhino sanctuary inside the park are worth the extra night on their own.
