Nizwa Fort and Souq, and a photo stop at the Grand Mosque on departure day.
Four nights that fit in Wahiba Sands, Daymaniyat Island snorkelling, and a drive up to Jabal Akhdar, built for eight.
Eight friends moving through Oman together get a route that swings from mountain to desert to open water inside four nights ; a drive up to Jabal Akhdar's cool heights, an afternoon of dune bashing in Wahiba Sands, and a morning snorkelling with dolphins off the Daymaniyat Islands.
This is one of the Oman itineraries we've planned for a group of friends before ; four nights, five days across Muscat, Jabal Akhdar and the desert, built for eight adults travelling together. It's shared here to show what a group trip through Oman could look like. A version built around your own group's size, pace, and dates would look a little different ; and that's the point.
Why This Trip
Jabal Akhdar via Nizwa is the detour most short Oman itineraries skip in favour of squeezing in one more desert day ; this one keeps it in, with a three-village walk through Wadi Bani Habib along the way. Wahiba Sands' dune bashing and the Daymaniyat Islands' snorkelling round out the trip on either side.
If you asked us: a group this size covers ground faster than a family does, which is what makes fitting mountains, desert and island into four nights work here without anyone feeling rushed.
